A dating agency is an organisation that acts as the "middle man" between men and women looking for a partner.

Dating Agencies have come a long way from the type agency that was around years ago. They are no longer like "The Wedded Bliss" marriage bureau agency run by Sidney Bliss as featured in the 1970 film Carry On Loving starring Sid James and Kenneth Williams.

What is the advantage of a looking for a new partner using dating agency?

One of the main advatnages of using a dating agency is that they will perform an element of "vetting" on the applicants. This is something that dating methods such as speed dating probably won't be as good at.
Some premier dating agencies will actually meet each and every applicant so that they can form a more complete idea of the type of person that would be suitable to introduce them to.
Many dating agency companies will not be able to provide such a personal service, but they would have computer systems that perform "matches" based on the information provided by the applicants.
